Club for Growth Backs Kathy Barnette in Senate Race, Drops Millions to Support Candidacy

The Club for Growth on Wednesday endorsed Kathy Barnette, who is running in the GOP primary to represent Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate.

The organization, which weighed in on the race with only one week to go, subsequently launched a multi-million dollar ad campaign to boost the candidate.

“Kathy Barnette is a principled conservative and a fighter who will take on the socialists in Washington to preserve the American dream for generations to come,” said David McIntosh, President of Club for Growth Action. “We look forward to supporting Barnette in her race to become the next senator from Pennsylvania.”

The Club for Growth released a new ad that “highlights Barnette’s biography and the socialist Democrats that are killing opportunities for underprivileged individuals to create a better life for themselves and their family and reach the American dream.”

According to AdImpact, which tracks political spending on campaign ads, the group dropped $1.96 million on broadcast, cable, and satellite so far.

Barnette has retained a string of campaign highlights, despite the fact former President Donald Trump endorsed Mehmet Oz in the contest.

In addition to the Club for Growth, Susan B. Anthony List is supporting the first-time candidate.

“We are excited to endorse Kathy Barnette for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Kathy is a courageous advocate for life who exposes the human cost of abortion. Her deeply compelling personal story ought to stir consciences across our nation, as she is proof that every child has dignity and deserves a chance and every mother deserves our support to choose life. There could not be a sharper contrast between Kathy and pro-abortion Democrats like John Fetterman, who want to impose abortion on demand until birth.”

Recent polling placed Barnette in a virtual tie with Oz for first place.
