HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra Laughs While Suggesting American Taxpayers Could Foot the Bill for Transporting Women to Pro-Abortion States

Biden Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra laughed Monday as he suggested his agency is considering using taxpayer funds to transport women to pro-abortion states so they can end the lives of their unborn babies.

During an interview with NBC News following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and return the issue of abortion to the states, Kate Snow asked Becerra, “What are you doing concretely in response to the Court’s decision, to try to help women?”

“Well, we’re working with centers like Planned Parenthood,” Becerra said. “So, we are restoring funding for Title X family planning services, we are working with supporters on the ground to make sure that we are providing services to women, where we can.”

“We are looking into everything, including assisting in transportation, something that HHS doesn’t typically do,” he continued, which prompted Snow to ask him, “Can you do that legally?”

“Talk to me later,” Becerra said, laughing.

“That’s a big question, right?” Snow pressed.

But Becerra boasted:

I always tell my team at HHS, if you’ve done your homework, then we have no right to do mild, and so we’re going to be aggressive, and go all the way.

As he continued to appear to tease his audience at the question of the legality of using American taxpayer funds to transport women to pro-abortion states, Becerra added, laughing, “And I would tell you if – you’re recording, so I won’t tell you.”

“This is all on the record, Mr. Secretary,” Snow stated.

“We are looking at every option and among those is transportation,” he asserted.

“What, say that again?” Snow asked.

“We are looking at every option and among those is transportation, transporting women to other states,” Becerra stated.

The Washington Examiner reported that Becerra said Tuesday the Biden administration is also considering setting up abortion providers on federal land in red states, a plan that is approved by radical leftist lawmakers Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

“What I can tell you is that we are aware of a number of ideas and proposals, many of which we have been considering internally ourselves,” Becerra said. “We have made no decisions yet. We certainly would have a conversation with the president to make sure we implement his directives to us in trying to protect women’s reproductive healthcare services.”

“We know that there is misinformation out there about what the Supreme Court did,” he said regarding the ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. “We want to make sure it’s clear that Americans didn’t lose every right they have. Americans still can assert their rights, and we will do everything we can to protect you.”
