Biden Demands Mehmet Oz, Herschel Walker Resign from Presidential Council

President Joe Biden has demanded the resignation of Dr. Mehmet Oz and Herschel Walker, appointees from former President Donald Trump and candidates for the U.S. Senate, from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.

If either of the individuals refuses to resign, the letter threatens termination. However, despite the threat, both candidates have pledged to not back down.

“On behalf of President Biden, I am writing to request your resignation as a Member of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition. Please submit your resignation to me by the close of business today. Should we not receive your resignation, your position on the Council will be terminated effective 6:00pm today. Thank you,” the letter sent to Oz said.

“If President Biden wants to politicize health, he will have to fire me. You would think record gas prices, a 40-year inflation high, and the situation in Ukraine would be his highest priorities at the moment,” the Pennsylvania Senate candidate responded in a tweet.

In the video, Oz contended that the only doctor that should be fired is Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Walker, who is running for the same position in Georgia, issued a similar response to Biden.

“President Biden is so scared about us beating Raphael Warnock that he has asked me to resign from my unpaid position on the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. I’m not a quitter so you are going to have to fire me,” he added in a tweet.

This is not the first time Biden has targeted Trump appointees. Last year, he moved to terminate Trump appointees from military advisory boards, asking each member to resign or be fired.

The move by Biden seemingly breaks a tradition that has allowed the previous president’s appointments to remain.
